With the aim of expressing gratitude, the three victims from alleged kidnapper Ariel Castro, spoke for the first time in a short YouTube ‘thank you’ video, since their rescue after a decade kept captive in Cleveland, Ohio.
Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight were featured on the emotional video dedicated to those who have supported them.
Although they reinforced a strong wish to keep their privacy, each utilized the video to show signs of hope. Hennes Paynter Communications, a public relations firm hired by the three women, posted de video on YouTube.
"I want to thank everyone who has helped me and my family through this entire ordeal, everyone who has been there to support us," shared Amanda in the video. Michelle from her part stated that “I am strong enough to walk through hell with a smile on my face, and with my head held high, and my feet firmly on the ground.”
Gina’s parents accompanied her during her statement while expressing a “thank you for the support” message for the donations, adding to more than a million dollars, the women have received through the Cleveland Courage Fund.
Castro has pleaded not guilty to hundreds of charges related to rape and kidnapping against Amanda, Gina, Michelle, and Amanda’s daughter born during their time held captive.
